Having beautiful hair doesn't mean breaking the bank OR filling your bathroom with beauty-buzz-word spangled containers touting claims to strengthen and shine. Keep it simple, keep it natural, and why not--keep it plastic free for the sea. <3

I try to generously coat my sun-loving head at least once a month in an organic, cold-pressed coconut oil. Simply pour a bit in the palm of your hand and massage it into your scalp and along sections of hair. SO SIMPLE. If you have access to a hot towel, wrap up your head for increased effectiveness!

If you have thinner or greasier hair, you may want to avoid going too crazy on your scalp. It does most work on the ends of your hair if you don't want to use too much precious oil.

Whilst you go on with your day, the coconut oil works to recondition by penetrating the hair shaft, past the cuticle, repairing and preventing damage from the inside out.

Coconut oil is free of silicone, alcohols, and other aggravating chemicals. It naturally has lauric acid, capric acid, and vitamin E that help strengthen hair by preventing protein loss.  It's anti-fungal, so will help with dry scalp and dandruff.  AND YES, it will improve SHINE. ;)

You can find it at most supermarkets, pharmacies, and health shops.
