Plastic Free Indigo + Shibori Workshop

Byron Bay Workshop - Sunday 5 November

Join your Plastic Free Mermaid, Kate, & Natural Dyer, Victoria, as they share about plastic-free lifestyle choices and a talk story on environmental, cultural, and historical issues around plastics and industry. Create your very own beautiful and earth-friendly crafts with local and sustainable items, designing them with the iconic blue hues of the oldest natural plant dye in the world - Indigo. Each participant will leave with their own unique handmade pieces:
- Indigo Shibori Dyed Shawl
- Indigo Dyed Beeswax Wraps
- Natural Body Scrub
- Plastic Free + Sustainable Living Guide

Victoria will teach us her skills and knowledge working with the organic natural plant pigment of Indigo, using a sugar vat for our projects and natural cloth. She will help us to create a gorgeous shawl with Shibori designs, as well as dyeing small squares of fabric for the Plastic-Free part of the day making Beeswax Wraps for your kitchen and home. Victoria will also share a brief history of the plant, opening up the dialogue for sustainable and best practices within our clothing and textile choices.

Learn from Kate how to live a luxurious life free of single-use plastics by making your own products and all her hacks from shopping to packing picnics. She will teach you how to make a body scrub from native plants and herbs to make your skin shine, followed by using local organic beeswax to create your own set of Shibori dyed Beeswax Wraps for your kitchen.
Walk away with a beautiful set of lush crafts & plenty of hot tips to live softly on the Earth.
